Project Details
Contor have been appointed to deliver two extensions and an internal refurbishment project on behalf of Unity Community Primary school in Manchester to expand their nursery provision.
Due to a requirement for changes to their current nursery offerings, Unity Community Primary School began to offer nursery places for children aged two to four. As a short-term solution, Unity Community Primary School were able to provide education space for their nursery children in three classrooms that were not previously being used, however, this was not a long-term solution. As a result they expressed a wish to Contor to extend the existing nursery and refurbish the existing administration area to make sure that all children in the school have enough high-quality space to learn in.
Contor offered a complete solution from pre-construction stage to develop the proposals, update budgets and finalise design information prior to site commencement. Now on-site, the project works include the erection of a new-build, two-storey administration suite with changing facilities below in addition to a single-storey extension to the nursery and internal refurbishment of the existing changing facilities adjacent to form a baby room, larger nursery and a community room including all ancillary cleaning, storage and WC facilities.
