Project Details
Contor secured this significant industrial project through competitive tender, delivering a new 7,500 sq ft single-storey extension at the client’s Trafford Park facility. The project presented complex technical challenges including contaminated ground conditions and the requirement to integrate the new structure with three existing operational units.
Scope of Works
Substructure & Frame: The works commenced with remediation excavations to address ground contamination, followed by the construction of a new monolithic floor slab. A structural steel portal frame was erected and clad with insulated composite panels to the roof and external walls.
Internal Fit-Out: Internally, the project included the construction of fire-rated compartment walls to the perimeter, installation of windows, personnel doors, and roller shutter doors, application of floor finishes, and the formation of structural openings to connect the new extension with the three adjoining units.
External Works & Drainage: Within the existing customer car park, Contor installed a 360m³ attenuation tank complete with pumping system, new below-ground drainage infrastructure, and full resurfacing of the car park to complete the works.
